Community Projects

These projects bloom at the intersection of care, education, and community.
From seed drives to StoryTrails, rain gardens to rolling greenhouses, each effort is rooted in our mission to reconnect people to nature — right where they are.

Native Seed Collection Drive

The best place to find resilient native seeds? Right in our own backyards.

Sunstone Garden invites local homeowners and land stewards to ethically gather native seeds from their own properties — even a small handful of seed pods can grow something big next spring.

Greenhouse & Trial Gardens

Our private greenhouse in Mahoning County is where seeds become seedlings, and where native plants (& Dahlias) get their start — often from wild-foraged seed collected right here in Northeast Ohio. We grow with purpose: for stewardship, for pollinators, and for sharing with the community. Soon, we’ll be expanding the space with on-site native seed collection gardens to grow even more of what our local landscapes need. It's not open to the public, but what grows here ends up everywhere.
